What happens when vectorizing
A PNG or JPG consists of pixels. If you enlarge it, edges become blurry or jagged. An SVG file instead describes areas, lines and curves mathematically, so it stays just as clean on a business card as on a poster.
When converting, the AI recognizes connected color areas and edges and traces them as paths. The result is a tracing, not a pixel-perfect copy: small details, gradients and image noise are merged into areas. With logos, icons, lettering and illustrations with clear edges this is hardly noticeable; with photos, a great many small areas and large files result.
You need the tool when a print shop or sign maker requires a vector file, when a logo only exists as a small pixel image, as a template for plotter and embroidery software, or to reuse an AI-generated subject as a clean graphic.
How it works
- 1
Prepare the image
Crop the subject to the important part and, for logos, remove the background first so the graphic comes out cleaner.
- 2
Upload
Drag the file (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB) into the field or select it.
- 3
Convert
Click “Let’s go”; the AI traces areas and lines as vectors.
- 4
Save the SVG
Download the result and open it in a vector program for fine-tuning if needed.
Typical uses
Logo for print
Turn a logo that only exists as a small PNG into an SVG for a print shop, signage or a trade show booth.
Icons for the website
Convert pixel icons to SVG that stay sharp on every screen and need little space.
Cutting machines and embroidery
Lettering and simple designs as an SVG template for cutting machine or embroidery software; you create cut contours and machine files there.
Reuse AI images
Save a logo or emblem created with the image generator as an editable vector graphic.
Good to know
- Input as JPG, PNG or WebP up to 5 MB and 16 megapixels; the longest side must be under 4,096 pixels, the shortest over 256 pixels. Resize or crop larger images first.
- Output is an SVG file with colors; there are no settings for the number of colors or black and white, the tool chooses the areas automatically.
- The price in tokens is on the page before the start and is deducted when the job starts; if the job fails, the tokens are refunded. There is a starting allowance even without signing up, no subscription is needed.
- The image is handed to the AI provider for conversion; what the provider stores is governed by its terms. On our server, upload and result are deleted after 24 hours by an hourly cleanup job.
- The SVG is cleaned before the download: scripts, events and references to external addresses are removed.
- Use of the result is governed by the terms of the AI provider; the rights to the source image must be yours.
Frequently asked questions
Which images are suitable?
Best are graphics with clear areas and edges: logos, icons, lettering, illustrations, comics. Photos result in a great many small areas and large files.
Does the SVG look exactly like my image?
Not exactly. The SVG is a tracing: areas are merged, fine gradients and noise disappear. With flat graphics the difference is small, with photos it is obvious.
Is a transparent background kept?
Transparent areas are usually carried over as empty space. For a cleanly cut-out logo, it is best to remove the background first with the tool “Background remover” and then check the SVG on a colored background.
How large can the image be?
Up to 5 MB and 16 megapixels; longest side under 4,096 pixels, shortest over 256 pixels. Resize or crop larger images first.
Can I edit the SVG?
Yes, in Inkscape, Illustrator, Affinity or Figma. There you can change colors, smooth paths or delete areas.
What does the conversion cost?
You see the price in tokens on the page before the start; it is deducted when the job starts, and if it fails you get the tokens back. As a guest you have a starting allowance, with an account a daily allowance; larger amounts via packages or a subscription.
What happens to my image?
It is handed to the AI provider for conversion; what the provider stores is governed by its terms. On our end, upload and result are deleted after 24 hours by an hourly cleanup job. The SVG is filtered before the download: scripts, events and references to external addresses are removed.
