GIF resizer – shrink or enlarge a GIF in pixels or percent

Chat shortcut: /gifresize

GIF resizer in one step: upload the file, choose percent or width, download the scaled GIF. The speed is kept, and the result loops endlessly.

No Sign-Up

Free · Input and result are automatically deleted 24 hours after upload.

New dimensions, same motion

A GIF is often stored larger than it is later displayed, and every superfluous pixel costs loading time, because the format carries every frame of the animation. Scaling is therefore an effective step toward a smaller file, often even before compressing.

The tool computes every frame at the new size and reassembles the animation with a fresh palette; the speed is kept, and the result loops endlessly. You choose percent or a fixed width, and the height follows in the same ratio. Useful for chat emojis, email signatures, forums or getting under an upload limit.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload the GIF

Drop or select an animated GIF or single image up to 30 MB and 4,000 pixels on a side.

  2. 2

    Choose percent or width

75, 50, 33 or 25% to shrink, 150 or 200% to enlarge, or enter a width in pixels.

  3. 3

    Download

Click “Let’s go”, check the result, save it or continue with “GIF Compressor”.

Good to know

  • Input: GIF (animated or single image) up to 30 MB, 2 minutes of running time, 4,000 pixels on a side and 8 megapixels. Output: GIF.
  • Shrink to 75 to 25%, enlarge to 150 or 200% or a free width in pixels; height automatic, output width 8 to 1,600 pixels, also in percentage mode.
  • All frames are scaled individually, frame delays are kept, the color palette is recalculated; the result always runs as an endless loop.
  • Processed on our server, deleted after 24 hours (hourly cleanup job). Free, no watermark. Chat shortcut: /gifresize.

Frequently asked questions

Is the animation kept?

Yes. All frames are scaled individually and saved with a recalculated color palette; the frame delays stay the same. The result always runs as an endless loop, even if the original stopped after a few passes.

Does the file get smaller this way?

Usually yes: half the width means about a quarter of the pixels; how much the file shrinks also depends on the image content and the new palette. If the dimensions already fit, use “GIF Compressor” instead.

Does the GIF lose quality?

Fine details such as small lettering suffer when shrinking. Even factors such as 50% or 25% usually give cleaner edges.

Can I enlarge a GIF too?

Yes, with 150 or 200% up to 1,600 pixels of width; more is limited to this width. It does not get sharper, only larger and softer; it's better to recreate it from the original video.

Which size fits Discord, Slack or Instagram?

As a guide: emojis 128 or 64 pixels wide, reaction GIFs in chats 320 to 480 pixels; check each platform for its current specs. Adjust square formats afterwards with “Crop GIF”.

What happens to my file and what does it cost?

GIF and result are deleted 24 hours after upload (hourly cleanup job). Scaling is free, no watermark.
