When you need MP4
iPhone, iPad and Mac save videos as MOV. That shows when sharing: Windows computers, Android phones, TVs and many upload forms expect MP4. Renaming the extension doesn't help, because the content stays the same.
The converter packs your video into an MP4 container and encodes the picture in H.264, a widely supported codec. The resolution stays, the file often gets smaller. Besides MOV, the tool also accepts WebM, MKV, AVI, WMV, FLV and 3GP.

Frequently asked questions
Why MP4 instead of MOV?
MOV is Apple's QuickTime container and often doesn't play outside Mac and iPhone. MP4 with H.264 is widely supported by Windows, Android, browsers and upload forms.
Do I lose quality?
The video is re-encoded in H.264 at a quality level where differences usually aren't noticeable. The resolution stays; the audio is re-encoded as AAC, HDR and 10-bit color are not carried over.
What about iPhone videos in HEVC?
Recordings in “High Efficiency” (HEVC) are converted to H.264, so they also play on older Windows computers, Android devices and TVs.
How large can the file be?
Up to 96 MB, 15 minutes and the pixel area of 3840 × 2160. “Video Trimmer” and “Video Compressor” have the same limits; trim or shrink larger videos first in a video program.
Do I need an account, is there a watermark?
