Your delivery stays, the voice changes
A classic voice distorter only shifts the pitch or lays a robot effect over the recording. The voice changer works differently: the AI takes your recording as a guide and re-speaks the same text with another voice, aiming to keep pace, pauses and emphasis. How close the result comes to a natural speaker is something you hear before downloading.
You need this when your own voice does not fit the project or should not be heard: for the voiceover of an explainer video, for characters in an audio drama, for a podcast segment in another voice, or to test a narrated version before the studio session. You record the text the way it should sound and then pick the matching voice.
The cleaner the recording, the better the result. A quiet room, a single speaker without music in the background and clear emphasis are the best foundation; the "Remove background noise" switch can reduce light interference before conversion.

What is carried over?
The AI is meant to keep the rhythm, emphasis, pauses and emotion of your recording and swap only the timbre; the spoken text remains the guide. Check the result by listening before you use it.
Can I change my voice from male to female?
Yes, in both directions. Simply choose a target voice of the other gender; your delivery and pace serve as the guide.
Does it work with recordings in languages other than English?
Yes. Language, wording and accent come from your recording; the target voice determines the sound. The style descriptions in the voice list are in English, but the voices speak whatever you spoke.
Which voices are available?
The voices of the ChatX library, male and female with different characters, such as calm, warm, strong or youthful. The "AI Voice Cloning" tool is a different workflow: there you use a voice sample to speak a new text; it does not convert an existing recording.
Does it work in real time, for example in Discord or games?
No. The tool processes finished recordings up to 10 minutes and delivers a new audio file. For live voices in chats you need a program with a virtual microphone.
How much does it cost?
A fixed token amount per started minute; the guide price is shown above the tool. So a 5-second recording costs as much as a 59-second one. The voice changer is available with an account only.
What happens to my recording?
It is handed over to ElevenLabs for conversion; what the provider stores is governed by its terms. On our side the recording is deleted after 24 hours (hourly cleanup); the result stays in your media library.
