Image translator in one run: upload a photo, choose the target language. The AI detects the source language and places the translation in the same spot in the image; a second model usually provides both versions as text as well.

Translation right in the image instead of typing it out
A menu on vacation, a package insert in a foreign language, a screenshot from a game or a product image for customers abroad: there is text everywhere that you do not want to type out. Here you get a finished, translated image you can share.
An image model reads the text in the image, translates it and places the translation where the original was, as far as possible in a matching font, size and color. A second model translates the original image independently as a list to copy; image and list can differ, and the list can be missing if text recognition fails. Afterwards, use the Image upscaler for printing or the Text Remover for a text-free version.
How it works
- 1
Upload an image
Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB, ideally photographed head-on and sharp.
- 2
Choose the target language
One of 15 languages; the AI detects the source language itself.
- 3
Translate and check
After "Let's go" the translated image appears, with the text list below it if text recognition succeeds; download the image or copy the text.
Typical uses
Travel
Photograph menus, signs and vending machines and read them in your language.
Packaging
Translate labels and instructions; for medicines, check the details separately as well.
Shop and screenshots
Adapt product images for other markets, understand chats and apps in a foreign language.
Good to know
- Input: JPG, PNG, WebP up to 20 MB, 50 megapixels and 12,000 pixels per edge, one image per run. Output: translated image, plus where possible a list "Original → Translation".
- 15 target languages, source language detected automatically; brand and product names, numbers and prices are meant to stay unchanged.
- Usable with an account (a free account is enough); fixed token amount per run, refunded on error.
- The image goes to the image provider (fal) for the image editing and to OpenAI for the text list; their terms apply. ChatX deletes input and result after 24 hours (hourly cleanup job).
- Printed text usually works well; handwriting, small print and vertical text can have gaps. Shortcut in the chat: /translateimage.
Frequently asked questions
Which images can I translate?
Photos of signs, menus, packaging and posters, screenshots from chats, games and apps, infographics, product images and social media graphics. The source language is detected automatically.
Which languages can I translate into?
German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese and Korean. The language of the page is preselected.
Is the layout preserved?
The AI is meant to place the translation in the same spot, in a similar font, size and color. With longer translations and a lot of small print the layout can differ; brand and product names, numbers and prices are meant to stay unchanged.
Do I also get the text to copy?
Usually yes: below the image there is a list "Original → Translation". A second AI model translates your original image independently for this; the list can differ from the image, be incomplete with small type, or be missing.
Which photo gives the best result?
Head-on, well lit, sharp and unobstructed. Handwriting, decorative fonts and vertical text are harder than printed text; check such spots in the translated image yourself, as the text list is a separate translation and not a cross-check.
How accurate is the translation?
Always check important content such as ingredients, contracts or medicines yourself. To only extract the text, use the Image to Text Converter; for plain text there is the AI translator.
Do I need an account, and what does it cost?
Yes, a free account is enough. Each run costs a fixed token amount (shown above), refunded if an error occurs.
